Ratt is an American glam metal group formed in Los Angeles, CA and initially featured Stephen Pearcy (vocals), Robbin Crosby (guitar), Warren DeMartini (guitar), Juan Croucier (bass), and Bobby 'The Blotz' Blotzer (drums). They evolved out of 70s band Mickey Ratt, transforming into their present form in 1983, and embraced the Sunset Strip blend of pop hooks mixed with aggressive rock.

Ratt was one of the most popular bands of the ’80s hair metal explosion, known for their riff-heavy, double-guitar attack coupled with frontman Stephen Pearcy’s distinctive, gravelly vocals. ∙ Their full-length debut, 1984’s triple-Platinum Out of the Cellar , featured a trio of Top 40 hits that earned it a spot on Rolling Stone ’s list of the 50 Greatest Hair Metal Albums of All Time.

After surviving several break-ups, including a “final” one in 1999, and the untimely death of guitarist Robbin Crosby, Ratt reformed in 2007 to play a few shows. It prompted the band to get back together in the studio and record a new album with the assistance of producer Micahe “Elvis” Baskette.
